Hello I'm new here but have been around Rangers for a while.

I tried this on the stock suspension forum with no luck, I hope someone here can help me.

My boy has a 2003 Ranger 4x4, 4.0, with a 5sp manual that we are going to install the RCD coilover 5" lift. The front driveline needs to be modified to work with this and I was wondering what all is invaulved. The drive line shop wants $600.00 to do it and I know I have had drivelines made for cheaper than that. Do you have to change the front output shaft on the t-case? What makes it so expensive?

Thanks for any help, Dennis

You don't have to change the yoke out.

The stock front driveshaft will only last for about 20,000 miles, from what I hear. Just get the superlift drive shaft for about $200.

Thanks, I'll look into the superlift driveline, that sounds a lot better than $600.00.

Thanks again, Dennis

Where can you find it for $200.00, The best I found is on Amazon for $483.40. Its still better than $600.00 though.

Sorry, I hit the wrong button- I ment to say 400.

Thanks for your help. I contacted Tom Woods Drive shafts and they can make us one with heavy duty splines for 499.00 and since we live close we can save on shipping. After he gets the lift on I'll have him post some pics.

Thanks again, Dennis
