I really like the overhead console in the late model S-Jimmy's. Has anyone tried to install one in a Gen 1 Super Cab? Will the compass/thermometer work?

You could make it work especially if you know how to work with fiberglass, as for the thermometer, you'd have to trace the wire to the temp sensor and pull that with it.

I have no problem making it fit. My concern is the wiring. According to S-series.com there is a connection to the vehicle speed sensor to adjust for temperature spikes when stopped. In one of their how-tos they say connect to the vehicle speed sensor for the cruise control. My concern is what would happen if I do the same on my ranger?

You'd have to find out if your CCs VSS runs the same signal as the GM. if not you'll have to look in to different options.

Sorry i can't really help you there, when doing CC installs i always used the tach signal, maybe wait and hope someone round here might know how for your ranger, as for the GM side maybe look around on S-series.com?
