matter which mercon V ATF I buy? What about gasket/filter?

Any need to go with motorcraft parts on the tranny gasket/filter and/or for the mercon V ATF fluid? Or is it ok to just go with Advance down the street?

if u don't mind pissing your money away go with the motorcraft parts,as for the atf I just started using Quaker State Synthetic,it cost a little more but lots of people say it is good

The filter is fine from anywhere. Most pan gaskets are reusable, so check on that. I'd go to a transmission shop for a gasket, we have plenty laying around and usually give them away. As for fluid we use mercronV in fresh rebuilds or Maxlife in fluid changes on fords.
