Found one for sale! HA HA. I was bored, Costa Rica Craigslist. 2002 Blue four door has a 2.8L turbo diesel and a 5 speed $22,500. Don't know what funds or how much that would equal in U.S. currency. Ford needs to sell some here in the states.

If I know how to read numbers I'm pretty sure that says 44 dollars.

So I'm assuming those prices are not costa rican colón...

First of all, pardon my english because I´m from Brazil.

Ranger 4 door represents most of the units sold here in Brazil.

When the new version of Ford Ranger started to be built in Argentina/Brazil (a common market), they lauched single cab 6 or 7 feets, supercab and double cab, with three types of engines: 2.5 (double spark - 120hp) and 4.0L (163hp) gasoline engines and a Maxion Rover 2.5L turbo intercooler diesel with 115hp.

After, Ford repleace 2.5 gas engine and lauched the 2.3L duratec, now, with 150hp.

In 2002, Ford lauched a redesigned Maxion-Rover (called as PowerStroke) with 2.8L Turbo diesel and in 2004, supercab and 4.0L gas engine was discontinued.

In 2005, Ford and International engines lauched, together, a revolucionary turbo diesel engine, fully eletronic common rail, 3.0L displacement, with 163hp and Euro III emission. Outside Brazil, with low suffer diesel, an EGR system, OxiCat and VNT turbo allow this engine to get Euro IV emission and 190hp output!

I own a 2006/7 Ford Ranger 3.0 TDi 4 doors.

Thanks very much!

The Brazilian Diesel Ford Ranger uses EATON FSO2405A gearbox, B&W 1305 TCase and Dana 44-3 rear axle, with 3,54:1 gear ratio.

Please, tell me if I posted the photograph in the right place!

koda...

No one is happy! Here in Brazil, a lot of people complain the fact of Ford had discontinued the supercab model, do you belive? However, the price of a Ranger Supercab XLT 4x4 diesel was very closer with double cab.

In Brazil, Ranger V6 isn´t popular because of high price of gasoline here and fuel consumption. Diesel, depite the high inicial price of acquisition, is desired because in case of Ranger, NGD has an excelent performace and an extremely low diesel consumption (13,0 km/L at 120km/h)

The rangers over there in Iraq are also 6 lug instead of 5. They are definately different from the ones here. They would look awsome lifted, but It would probably be hard to find rims that would work and look right unless they were converted over to the 5 lug that is used over here.

this one is a 2.9 diesel 4x4

the argentina ranger was really made in the US ranger base
first one they introduced here was using the 98-2000 design, and used a crappy 2.5turbo diesel engine
they all had 4x4 look, but not all of them were 4x4, just like the EDGE

then, in the 03 model, they updated a bit the design and replaced the 2.5 with a 2.8 turbo diesel

You can order one in Mexico and drive it across the border and legalize it here (non diesel). i've had a few cousins that live down by the border drive them across, plain as day and register them and the DMV (or DPS). when they ask for VIN/Make/Model/Year, they dont care if its and ext. cab, crew cab, etc.

of course, they got the hook up with the "emissions" or "inspections" part to get the sticker, but i'm sure they'll pass. on and btw... they got cast iron V8 blocks in em!

They arent very comfortable thats true. When I first bought my ranger I didnt think it would be very comfertable because the seat have you like on the floor of the cab. but its very comfy. Tacomas lack comfort badly but they are damn reliable. If its between a colorado(I dont trust GM) a Frontier(nissans tend to have brake issues) and a tacoma(uncomfortable) I take the Tacoma. My uncle had a '99 one that ran up to 215,000 miles till he tboned someone like 6 months ago:bawling:. He never gave it any maintnence.

Everything else said I can honestly say that when I bought this truck I was looking for a tacoma. I got a great deal and am so glad I did. If the Ranger comes with a four door in usa I will be a ranger owner forever.

In many less-developed parts of the world, the 4-door compact pickup truck is the vehicle of choice. It can haul the family around, haul stuff, pull stuff, is tough and looks good.

I've spent some time in Thailand and there are tons of 4-door trucks there. Some friends of mine live about an hour outside Bangkok and have a 4-door Isuzu pickup. It's a diesel automatic 2WD (it's pretty flat around that part of Thailand so 4WD isn't really that popular) and is quite comfortable to ride around in, even on long trips.

A very popular truck is the Mitsubishi Triton, which looks pretty futuristic:
