need answer asap 98 ranger shifts hard.

My dad is pickin up an 4.0 auto ranger tomaro and it shift hard 1 in to 2 also he overdrive lite blinks..needs answers fast
 
If the OD light is flashing then there is a problem which could be anything, but with the OD light flashing the trans is in limp mode which will put it in high line pressure and cause harsh shifts. You need to get a scanner on it to see why the ligts on.

thx guys ..he bought the lil truck down ill get some pics..
it needs a bumper got a hole in the tailgate looks like a trailer came off the ball and riped it.
