This is my first post here & just wanted to say hi. I have a 2000 Ford Ranger, 4cyl, 2wd, manual, 100,000+miles, body in great shape, paint clear coat starting to peel on left front fender. It is in very good shape but is approaching a point where I'm gearing up for doing a lot of restoration (engine & paint) work. I need to change the shocks on it (I do a lot of woodworking and I've been hauling to much wood apparently). I want to restore it to its optimum condition as I don't want to go buy another vehicle. I'd like to get as much mileage out of this Ranger as i can. The last one I had (1994, same specs) went over 200,000 miles and that was with minimum maintenance. It would have went longer but a big buck deer on route 23 here in southern Ohio had other ideas. He hit me rather than me hitting him. It was like a car hitting me. For now, bessides the shocks, I'm having a stalling problem when I come to a stop. It only seems to happen just after startup. After the intial stall is seems to be fine. It is in need of some serious TLC so I'm hoping I can pick a lot of brains here learning, etc. I've done a lot of auto/mechanical work and I'm getting ready to rebuild my wife's 2000 VW Beetle engine. through that process I'm hoping I can collect a lot of the extra tools I'll need to do the same on the Ranger. Love the Ranger.... And I am very windy
