What are you looking to do? There is gonna be more info on the 4btforum for sure, but are you wanting to just swap it in, and use all of the ranger stuff? You need to find a transmission like the TH400 that was in the frito trucks, or one of the transmissions that they make adapters for. Then you need all the other stuff. Do you have an engine, or are you just tossing around the idea of doing this.

Right now just tossing around the idea. Mostly trying to figure out what to be looking for. I did go peek around at 4btforums and found out that a guy named tractor boy used a larger manual trans and an np205 transfer case. That may be the way for me to go, but I'm wondering If there is a smaller trans combo that will reliably hold the torque of the 4bt.

IIRC, he used the ZF. You can get away with a m5od-r2 from an F150 behind a stock or mild 4BT.
Almost any Ford fullsize transfer case will bolt up... including the np205, np208, 13-45, 13-56, 44-06.
Go over to 4btswaps and just start reading build threads. It doesnt have to be Ranger or RBV builds either, read any and all build threads that interest you. You will learn a lot from reading all different build threads.
