A friend of mine has a 93 F150 with Wiper Problems.

The wipers won't shut off and the wiper control module is clicking wildly.

I've never diagnosed wiper problems before but remember that there is a PARK function on the wipers. My friend believes that his Wiper Control Module is defective but ther quick multimeter tests that I have done on the resistors and diode check out okay.

Where do i look first?

check out the speed selector first. If it is the kind that I think it is, you just pop off the little end cap, remove the screw that you find under it, pull the knob off and clean the contacts of the switch. If its not that then nothing lost. I cant help you beyond that.

The speed selector switch is part of the multi-function combination switch on the column. After looking more at my buddies truck. I noticed that the wiper motor has 2 plugs on it and the oe on the gear cover probably goes to some sort or position sensor on the back of the wiper gear. I think we are gonna pull it apart and look at that.

The one that does the directionals and the high beams? then yes thats the kind of switch that I was talking about. That switch was used in most Fords for a couple years.

I think there's a write-up in the tech pages on fixing a phantom wiper switch...

I had to tear apart the multifunction switch on my column an clean it out, it was so bad inside the switch it looked like someone filled it with axle grease! Cleaned it out good, put a lil fresh dielectric grease in there and it works like new.
