starting my 4.0L swap into my 85 ranger

well today i picked up a 91 explorer. got a killer deal for it. has everything i need for my ranger. i got as far as to pretty much disconnect all wiring and almost able to pull the engine. tomorrow gonna get started with the ranger and hopefully have the engine fully out and ready for the 4.0. heres a pic of the donor vic.

I'll be doing a similar swap with a 85 b-II and a 91 explorer soon....ish.

that is one of the main reasons why i spent a little extra than expecting to pick up that explorer. plus it had a 5 speed and super low miles for the year.

well its the end of day 3 of my build. i have successfully removed the 4.0 engine, trans, and transfer from the donor (as you can see in the pics). today i was able to remove the drivetrain from the ranger. (without cutting the front up obviously) lol it would have made it a lot easier if i could do that. ah well got it out and started gutting the interior of the ranger. got most of it removed, just gotta finish up removing the dash. then its on to the explorer. next time i go down to work on it i will take some pics and post them up and keep this build thread moving along.
