88 2.9 gonna swap a 94 4.o into?? hav many questions please help!!!!!

So i just bought a 1994 explorer with a blown trans. My 2.9 just isnt cutting it any more to push my 6" lift and 33" with stock gearing... plus the 2.9 is getting tired anyways so instead of spending the money on making the 2.9 push more power i wanted to swap a 4.0... Cant some one please tell me what im getting myslef into? Is it worth it? What wiring comes into play?Does all the under dash wiring need to be replced aswell? Any tips on the swap would sure be great thanks!

Im actually doing the exact same swap right now. Same years and all.

I'm swapping all the wiring from the explorer onto the b2. I dont like wiring and this seems to be the best option for me. Under the dash will take some time because I'm keeping the first gen dash. If you want to save time put the dash from the ex and It will just be a plug and play. Fuel lines have to be adapted and wiring for the fuel pump needs work. You can look at my build of what I have so far. Ill be pulling the 2.9 sometime next week.

oh cool someone who actually replay to any of my post... lol but yea I wanted the 1st gen dash as well but not that I think about wiring it's a night mare so Im going with the dash from the ex as well... I'm hearing the hole in the fire wall needs to be cut bigger for the steering column in the ex... does anyone know anything about that?? and the stock two fuel pump set up will work for the 4.0 swap yea?? what wiring needs to be done for the fuel pump..??
