ah, the tube or the stick its self? you just pull the stick out. unless it has one of those aftermarket clamps that fold over, than you just fold it over.

I have a dipstick question too, is the dipstick the same length on say all rangers with the aluminum oil pan? mine is worn out, and the splash cover thing retainer fell off and is probably in the bottom of my oil pan or completely gone, not to mention one of the waves has fairly significant wear...
