hi i have a 1985 ford ranger just curios if any one has any experience with center hinge drop brackets, do they work , how much width do they give u etc

What exactly is a center hinge drop bracket.? I Google it real quick and it pops up skyjacker pivot drop brackets. Is that what your talking about.

I've only heard the term center mount drop brackets used when people are using equal length beams. Is that what your talking about? Or are you talking about just regular old lift kit drop brackets?

lift kit drop brackets i heard it gives some travel but not alot. i want to be able to put 4 inch fender flares on there but i am afraid that wont be long enough

lift kit drop brackets won't give you a noticeable amount of travel, it sounds like you want some bent beams or extended beams

Honestly if I was you I'd refrain from doing this until you do A LOT more research and you know you have the skills to fab this and not have it fail.
