I have a 2004 ranger ec 4x4 auto. Beautigul truck but it was rolled and the cab is crushed and it also has a non-rebuildable title.

I was wondering if I could install a 93 or 98 and up cab onto it?

Has anybody ever tried this?

I'm wondering if the mounting points of the frame are indetical.... Also wondering if the 2004 dash will fit in the older cab etc....

as long as it is an extended cab that is a '93+, then yes.....if it is a standard cab, then no because they changed them in '99 or '01 to be 3" longer...

Anything before 1996 won't have the hole for the computer in the firewall and there is a difference in the holes in the floor for the harnesses (under drivers seat) between 99 and 01 but you can get around that.

if you are in california dmv will base the year model off the frame so keep all the emissions from the later truck or it will never pass smog.it is illegal to just register it with the title from the older cab

you should call your local dmv just to be sure since you could get in trouble if you ever went to sell an illegally cobbled together truck
