Hello all....
I just joined the site for information mostly. Now my question is this- i have a 96 ranger xlt, with the 2.3L. What i am looking for is a swap up to a V-6. do any of you have any sugestions on what 6 i should go with and why? I anyone has a sugestion please let me now i do have enough knowledge to get this done along with a bunch of friends helping me out and a hanes manual to guide me as well. The only thing i am weak in would be the electrical part of the swap. Now i am not looking to drop in a 302 like lots of people have told me to do. I would like the up and down points of a 3.8 or a 4.0. Please send me any information you can give me on this ie a parts listing or somethin like it. I am hoping i can use the same transmission and rear end like i said any help you all can give me would be a great help. thanks in advance!

Put in a 80s SVO 2.3 turbo in your truck. With some work done to it u will keep up with mustang GTs, but still get good mpg. The engine will bolt in an use ur stock tranny. If u want a v6 sell your truck and buy a 4.0 truck. The 3.0 is a dog! The 2.3 is an alsome engine an ive seen them bulit with 200+hp non turbo. The 2.3 will also last the longest out of all the ranger engines ive seen. Ive had 2 2wd and 2 4x4 4 pooper rangers and loved every one and all 4 still run to this day!
