Not sure if i have a bad exuast valve or somthing esle

My truck makes a pisst noise like a burst of air mainly when i shift gears.
I sounds like what an exuast value sounds like when they go bad but this only happens when i shift so i am not sure.

Any ideas?

sounds like a turbo blow off valve! jk. maybe a vacum leak? is it only when the rpm drops?

Yeah it may be that it is a vacuum leak because when i put my hand over the throttle the truck doesn't die. and a hear a sucking noise by the transmission.
And thats where i always hear the noise

use carb cleaner to find out where it is, just spray at it, and the engine will bog down when you found it.

RPMs do drop when you shift right? if so then yes

Well it also happens when i reve the engine at idle but not all the time

Any chance you're burning ATF?

Disconnect and plug the vacuum modulator. Your transmission won't shift correctly, but your engine should work better.

I drained the atf fluid and I put 80 weight gear oil in yesterday day

Ok, I understand why now, sorry

As for the hissing noise, does it do it at idle?
You really need to get a flashlight and try and track it down
