Rear Axle ?

I have a chance to pick up a 7.5 rear diff with 4.10 gears from a 98 Mazda B2300.

I want to install into my '88 2wd Ranger. (Make the old POS more fun to drive)

Can I install the axle shafts from the '88 diff in to the '98 diff?

I believe 3rd gen+ axles are a bit wider. B2 7.5 shafts should be the same as gen3+... Why do you want to swap them?

hahns is right. the 98 axle is wider then the 88...no workey.

I wanted to be able to use the stock rims from the '88.
The newer axles have a larger centre section.

No, I'm not 100% sure what year the axle centres changed. I'll measure the axle centres when I get a chance.
