I spotted a grand wagoneer at the Pull a part today while I was scouting some parts, I didnt think to look at the year or very closely at the axle (mostly because it was pissing rain and i was wearing my street clothes) but if it is one of the years that is less desireable , is it still useable or modifiable to work. It would only cost me $86 for that beast, i could go back and look at what kind it is, but I'm just looking for your guys input real quick because the yard is a good 1/2 hour drive away.

1980+ is driverside drop, so 79 and down wont work. I think 83-85 was the CAD style vacuum disconnect. I know my 86 waggy D44 has no CAD on it.

You can buy the spindle nut kit from 4wheel parts and slap in a set of warn manual.

If you can weld you can run it fine

if it has a return policy.... return it... and buy mine!! from a 91. its gonna be a little bit more than what you paid though
