So I'm a new Ranger convert. In search of something that was a little easier on gas than my '91 F150 4x4 with a 5.8 and after much perusing of different small 4x4's, I made my purchase. A couple weeks ago I picked up a clean '98 4x4 Ranger XL at the State of Washington surplus property auction. What a great truck! Clean, runs great with a 4.0 and 5-speed, and is perfect for what I need. It came with every maintenance record for any work done on it since new. I need to do a couple of things to it but it's going to be a great truck for me. Best of all, it's going to cost a whole lot less at the pump than the old rig did!
