so, is there anyone out there who can give me a list of parts to make my 88 2WD bronco II into a bitchin 4WD trail rig? such as axles, lifts, ect ect. I'm pretty new to Frankensteining a car together and get confused with all the different options. Plus everyone tells me if you can dream it you can do it or the sky is the limit so that doesnt help. just looking for a place to start. my BII is all stock.

Find a first gen Explorer and swap the entire drivetrain. That's a good start.

Otherwise just start reading posts of what others have done. There are so many ways you can go, just pick a tire size and build around it.

depends on what kind of trails?
mud? rocks? expo? drive to trails or trailer it there?

Mud, and drive to trails. it would still be my daily driver.

my "next" b2 build would be...

4.0 or 5.0, built auto trans, t/case undecided, kingpin 60, 14 bolt, 5.38 geared, arb'ed front/rear, custom 3 link front with air shocks, 4 linked rear with air shocks, pitbull rockers, exo cage with built in roof rack, hid lighting, and a lot of other goodies.

or course a lot of that is subject to change when the build starts since... things go wrong and somethings can't work like planned.

but for mud, I would just do leaf rear, eb coils up front, cut the crap out of the fenders, 35" mt's, detroit lockers.. Idk, really, never thought of a mud build.
