TJ springs are usually softer than those out of an XJ, but sometimes they're one and the same. The RE springs are really soft, if I remember, I want to say that are only in the neighborhood of 190-200lb/in.

Most XJ springs from specialized jeep suspension companies will be in the same range of rates. I think it's only Skyjacker and Rancho (maybe Superlift, Rough Country, etc) that have rates as high as 250lb/in

Instead of specifying "XJ" like we,ve been doing, I would probably specify "ZJ" instead (Grand Cherokee).

Skyjacker and Rancho specify the same 240lb coil for both vehicles, but it seems some others don't.
Sticking with ZJ might make for better consistency in finding coils that'll work well for our trucks (ZJs with the V8 are slightly heavier than any XJ, and would use heavier coils).
