Mostly because of their durability. Theres alot of older Rangers still on the road compared to comparable products from GM and Mopar/Chrysler. At least thats how it is around here.

Honestly I think the Ranger would be a much more sought after truck if Ford was smart and actually "updated" it. MSN even said in a nutshell that its not really been updated in forever....just minor changes every so often.

Do something like Toyota did with the Tacoma, give it a supercharger. The "Taco" gets a huge power boost out of that thing.... that'd sure be nice to have in a Ranger and it would make it very competitive with some of the larger trucks.....giving it a very similar peak power output to many trucks twice its size.

Just have to wait and see what actually happens to the Ranger after the plant closes down.
