I popped the 2.9 in my 90 b2 and it's.
My dd, I can get a 96 explorer with a bad slave for cheap, I also have a 91 explorer, no motor, can I use 96 engine with 91 harness to make it work in my b2?

I blew the 2.9 in my 1990 b2, I want to put a 4.0 in, I read to do this I have to use 90-94 donor, I can buy a 96 explorer cheap, my question is can I use this 96 donor if I use the wire harness from a 91 explorer?

You will need sensors from the 91 also. Probably more....do you have the motor from the 91 or anything else that might have come with it.

I bought the 91 for the tranny, it has no motor, the rest is there

navajo for a donor is fine, as long as it's within the proper year range
