Where is the vehicle speed sensor on 98 ranger?

I have an 87 Ranger and the VSS on on the trans, near the back by the transfer case. I can't seem to find one on my 98 ranger with an A4LD. Doesn't appear on be on the transfer case either. Is it on the rear axle?

thanks!!! next, if i remember correctly - there is one for rear abs. this sensor should be right at the top of the pumpkin, near the middle, almost above the ring gear right? so that means by process of elimination, the VSS would be the other one.?.. :dntknw:
