Replaced my door window seals today, the old ones where very dry rotted, and scratching the windows.

And did a little sound deadening on the doors wile I had the panels off.

The whistling wind noise is gone, and there is a noticeable difference in road noise. (Tire Roar)

I also removed the mesh screen in front of the door speakers, the highs sound much clearer now. :icon_twisted:

What did you use for the sound deadening?

Well I know what I will be doing next weekend.

where did you get the door seals?

I used Quick Roof on my Ranger. It was 16 bucks for a roll at Home Depot. This is the only pic I have of it.

I got the "anti-rattle" kit from LMC for mine - it made a world of difference too.

sorry guys, not near the same stuff. Items like Dynamat and Second skin have a MUCH higher melting point. Roofing materials have a tendency of melting inside your car, then you can end up stuck with a big ole mess to clean up.

At least on doors it tends to just run inside the door, but if you put it on your floors, there is a good chance of it ruining your carpet.

Never had a single issue with it, and neither has the guy I sold it to (I work with him). It's not going to make a "big ole mess to clean up".

I will be putting it in my F150 soon.

I have compared and used them both. It's the is same stuff, only without the DynaMat logo printed on the foil.

105 in the shade here last week. My FSB was in the sun, windows up, the entire time. No melting, no smell, no mushiness, no problems and the floor in it has been done in two layers for the last 8 or so years. That's 8 summers in the deep south, with no problems.

I've seen a jeep with it puddled on the floor, an audi that had to have the doors redone because it ruined the motors and tracks.. I could go on and on.

Trust me, no where NEAR the same stuff. If you are willing to risk it, then it is another avenue to save money, but it is not even made out of the same material.

Like I said, looks the same, feels the same, smells the same, and almost a decade of evidence that what you are proposing wont happen. Seen it installed in dozens of FSB's and other various vehicles without a single problem.

Even in Arizona :icon_twisted:

But, if I ever have a problem, I'll let everyone know.

Yea, kind of a strange name for it. I was not 100% sure I had ordered the right thing until it arrived.

An alternative is to just spray with bedliner. You get the same effect (just adding mass to reduce vibration) and lets you get into the corners easier. Whichever you use, make sure not to cover your cabin plugs.

I looked into it after seeing this post and have heard that it can slide when on vertical surfaces in the heat. Kind of makes since because its designed to lay flat and not up and down. Wouldnt be an issue on the floors I would imagine. Peel and Seal is asphalt based and Dynamat is Butyl based. That being said Ive also seen lots of posts on other forums where guys use it with no issues and love the results. I will be giving it a try on the floor when I finish my body mount project. You cant beat the price thats for sure.
