I was looking yesterday at the front on my 86 B2 and where would be a good place to hook to if you needed to be pulled from the front? Do they sell a tow hook kit where you can add one to the front? My B2 wont see the mud for a while but just something I was thinking about.

ive never liked the idea of pulling from one frame rail, ive heard you can twist the frame that way. a front mount receiver or a bumper heavy enough to take the weight is your best shot. i used some angle iron and a front receiver that was given to me and welded this up. not sure if they are commercial available for our trucks or not.

Good tow points for the front of the B2?

I've put a tow strap on the front frame rail of my '88 Ranger two times and it tweaked the frame enough while towing to crack the radiator both times. Not sure if it was an issue isolated to just my truck but it's given me enough apprehension that I'll never do it with my '88 Bronco II.

I have tow hooks mounted on the bottom of my frame right under the bumper. One short pull off a rock was enough to twist the frame about an inch. If you do anything like this, at least box in the frame... It would be much safer to weld a plate or some tubing across the frame rails and build off that though.

well i am in the process of putting a tow hitch on the rear of the bronco, is this a good place to tow from being it levels out the pressure to both sides of the frame? I feel that if the pressure is consistent on both sides that it shouldn't bend the frame right. I will see about mounting another hitch to the front of mine. It looks good, I just got to figure out how to do it without welding being I can't weld... YET! :icon_welder:
