what size gears?

I have a 98 ranger on 35s with 3.73 gears an im looking to have a little more power an get alot better gas mileage what size gears should i go with?
 
with the 4.0 i would go with 4.56's if its a stick, 4.88's if its a auto, i bets its slower then snail shit right now LOL.....oh ya wrong forum too
 
4.56s or 4.88s i would go 4.88s for more power :)
