well thats what i meant the 86-93 gt mustangs came with a limited slip differential and the rear end was a 8.8 and i know the ranger was but i was just making sure they would fit

yeah they are both 28 spline. i just didnt know if the carrier was any different or not the ranger i just bought has the rear end welded up so i was gonna swap it out for something different but wanted a lsd

Well the 7.5 limited slip carriers switch between the Ranger and the Mustang.
I can't remember if the Mustang had the 31-spline 8.8 or the 2.8 spline 8.8, and those two won't interchange properly. If you have access to the Mustang rear just make sure the tube diameters are the same.
