Hi guys! My name is Steve and between my son and myself we currently own 3 Rangers, a '94 3.0 2wd, '99 4.0 4x4, and an '02 4cyl 2wd. I am helping my son replace the 4.0 pushrod engine in his '99 4x4 with an '02 4.0 ohc engine from a wrecked 2wd. Bolting up the engine is not a problem, but I am concerned about the "PATS" anti-theft system as well as any other problems I may encounter hooking up all of the computer wiring and the electric shift 4wd wiring. Has anyone done this swap before and if so what problems were encountered and what was done to fix them. Thanks for your help!
