I am restoring my 1986 Ford Ranger, and have a line on a 1999 Explorer with a 302 5.0 V-8 engine, transmission, transfer case, computer, harness, the works. Is the 1999 going to be a good swap for the old V6?

Please pass along any and all advice for a novice.

I'm not sure about a good swap but anything is doable...is either of them 4x4 currently? If so, then it complicates things a bit...depending on what you are shooting for...but there are many threads to investigate and that is where I would suggest looking for information...even posting a question if you don't find what you want...

Many build threads...the search engine at the top is your friend...but many will answer your question willingly...everyone wants to give advice...:)
