Has anyone ever seen an intake for an OHV 4 liter that will accept a carb? I know all 4 liters were injected, but I'm wondering if any aftermarket company made an intake to convert the motor?

No. You don't want to anyway.

Well I'll be damned. Still, don't.

well dang, i learned something new today already... and its only been today for 40 mins!

how the hell you going to make the damn thing spark.....can you run a durrapspark set up? be kind of neat if you want to throw it into a pinto or an early ranger

You could solve the ignition problem with a megasquirt, but if you're going to go to that kind of trouble and expense you might as well run injection.

Wow...a supercharger for a carb...that would be interesting...but I think it's for the 3.8 so I'd have to do some adapting...and add about a foot to the belt drive...and rebuild my block...and for all that expense I could just turbo charge it...

how about adapting a 2.8 durraspark dizzy?

Steg, what is the problem with running a 2.8 diz on a 2.9?

You will have the same problems with a 4.0.

Now WTF would you want a carb on your 4.0?

You know you will never pass a cali emissions test like that, right?

I see your truck is an 85 2.3L so I am assuming that you are looking at a 4.0 swap and don't want to mess with the fuel system. It will be easier to just buy the donor truck and take everything.

the 4.0 is one of the last engines id adapt a carb too

EFI is your friend, keep it and don't look back.
