You can get multimillion dollar adaptors to keep your stock t-case and driveshafts... otherwise you are going to need to go to a fullsize t-case and custom length driveshafts.

Again, more info in the tech libary or V8 swap forum by searching. :icon_thumby:

you'd probly want the fullsize stuff anyways just to handle the v8 power

Anymore the answer is pretty much yes you will have to change some stuff. You can buy some adapters but they won't gurantee you keep the stock driveshafts. A C4 with a C5 tailshaft and extenstion housing will let you retain your stock t-case but still no gurantee on driveshafts. Best bet is to find a donor vehicle with what you want to swap in. You wil have the engine, trans and t-case. You will have less in driveshaft modifications than adapters that way.

The rear will be roughly 4" too short and the front will be 4" too long. That is what I found when I swapped out my A4LD (same length as M5OD so the OP's would be similar no matter what he has) for a V8 C5 with a RBV C5 tailhousing.

For the record it is a lot cheaper to get a different driveshaft and have it shortened than to have one retubed to make it longer. They did not tell me this and were happy to charge me $280 for a retubed stock driveshaft and $50 to cut down my front.

Search man,,,, SEARCH. Its alllllllll on here.
There is a tech library. Use it, this is what its for. Read other peoples build threads, a 302/sas has been done 100's of times. Do a little leg work and look for yourself.
