So doods, I'm lookin at ford shop manuals on ebay. I've got a '90 ranger with a 2.9 and a '90 b2 with a '91 4.0. There aren't any real changes between these years, right? Do I need the bronco II or would just a ranger manual be fine? Thanks.

EDIT: oh 4.0 is from a ranger not explorer if that matters.

If you can only get one set of manuals, I'd get the '90 set.

The '90 will cover things specific to your BII (side windows, hatch, fuel tank, wiring, etc) that won't be contained in the '91 books. At the same time, the '90 set will still have details about the 4.0L V6 engine (though no guarantees nothing at all changed for '91, however any changes are probably minor).
