hi i've read all the stuff in the tech library about these auto hubs and tried fixing them just to get me by till i buy a set of manual hubs. what goes wrong in these auto hubs that makes them not work? i cleaned the gease and all kinds of crud out of them the spring seams move freely tried putting hot ATF in it and let it sit and worked the internals around while it was filled with ATF and still nothing... only 2by go any help would be great thanks

Mine would only engage if I was going 15 mph, which pretty much makes them useless in my opinion. Maybe try going at least 15 mph if you haven't already.

The plastic cams that actuate the hubs have little tits on the top and they get broken off.

just go for manual hubs. Best thing i ever did to my truck when i had a 4x4

Manual hubs are the better way to go but a buddy of mine had the same problem with the autos. he said he greased the sh** out of them and they where fine. Also you could try going into rev when u lock them in. back up a few feet then go forward best way to lock in a 4wd ( or so the local 4x4 shop owner informed me lol )

just wondering if the transfer case is engaging...........and I think there is a way of locking them all the time. this basically turns them into the live axle that the 2001? + have
