ok guys i have been searching for a while so i wouldnt ask a question thats been asked. here is my problem when im in any gear my stick shift is really wobbly. i have 84 with a 4 speed and then it likes grinding when i try to put it in reverse i have to slam the clutch in and then slam it in reverse anyone know y this is happening

Your teflon ball is broken and your slider is worn out. I don't think reverse was a synced gear on that trans. Try coming to a full stop, putting the trans in a forward gear and then R and see if that helps the grinding.

nope it didnt help but what i notice is the motor idles to high and when i kick it down i will go in just fine without grinding but it didnt always wanna kick down.
