I know this may sound petty to a lot of you but I'm gonna ask it anyway. I put a new battery in my 88 Ranger a couple weeks ago and now when the stock radio is turned on, it displays the frequency instead of the time. Before the battery change, it displayed the frequency for a short period of time and then displayed the time. Since I don't wear a watch I'd love to see the time without pushing the on-off knob. Is there a way to switch the setting back? Thanks in advance.

I know pushing the 'clock' button changes the display but I would like the time to be the default display like before the battery change. Before, if I changed stations, the frequency would display for maybe 5 seconds and then switch to the time. Now, the time is displayed for about 5 seconds and then the frequency is displayed. I want to be able to just glance up there and see the time without pushing the "clock, on/off" button. The only time the clock stays displayed now is if the radio is turned off.

On my Explorer, pressing the clock button changes it so the clock is displayed all the time, and the frequency only displays for a few secs when you adjust the volume or change stations. If you press the button again, the frequency is displayed all the time except when the radio is off. I don't know, maybe yours is different.

:agree: Yeah, thats how it's been on every radio I have ever had in my vehicles, stock and aftermarket.
