I have an 87 ex cab 4x4 with 2.9 auto, What I need to know is, will a 2nd gen front suspension bolt up?
If so will it have to come from an ex cab and what would the benefits be?
This truck will not be off road, strictly a pavement pounder.
What I'm really looking for is a nice smooth ride.
Thanks Ahead, George.

yes it will bolt up, if it is a d35 front you have to shorten the front drive line, its goin to ride the same, if you have stiff coils you get a hard ride, if you have soft coils you get a soft ride. i see no point in doin the swop if its goin to be a pavment pounder, the reasson why peaple do the d35 and 8.8 swop is because they are way stronger axles for wheeling than the weak d28 and 7.5.

Yep, 2nd gen has the same suspension as yours except for the mentioned D35 axle, the ride won't be any different.

Your shocks (and the coil springs) are primarily what affect the ride quality.
