I have been reading the tech on tire/wheel size and fitment so I stopped at a friend's garage who does a lot of off roading and asked about tire size and he thought a 30x9/50 R15 would be about right on an 8.5 rim and should fit the BII w/o cutting or rubbing. Is that your alls experience?

Thanks Jim

I just put a set of 30x9.5/15's on my 89 b2 three days ago and have to say they fit like a glove with zero rubbing anywhere. I was worried going from the 235/75/15's to a larger size would rub on the swaybars but no problems so far. Good luck.

You can probably even fit 31/10.50's no problem.

Thanks Guys.

The information helps alot. I am looking forward to getting the BII back to the way it was in the late 80s when I dove it more, all over Missouri and Arkansas.

Would those tires be the same size?

correct me if im wrong but the 235 is fractions smaller then a 30? obviously depending on manufacturer but dont 235/75/15s run between like 29.5'' and 30''? but yeh with them both being so similar they basically are the same size which is why i was wondering if there is a price difference

an 8.5 wide rim is way to wide for a 30x9.50 tire. Try a 15x6 or 7.

If he lifted it or cut out the front fenders. It'll rub otherwise. 30/9.50s on stock wheels rubbed on mine stock height.

yeah 30x 9.5's are slightly larger than 235/75's. and yeah i wouldn't go bigger than a 7 inch rim, 8.5 inches seems too big. I ran 30x9.5's on a 15x7 and i wouldn't have wanted a wider rim.
