i have a ring and pinion gear question for yall. if i change out my rear ring and pinion to a lower ratio, do i need to change my front gears as well?

If you want to ever use 4wd again, yes.

Haha. This reminds of a time, at a shop I used to work at, when someone put a rear axle from a junkyard in a tacoma pickup. It had the wrong gears in it, different from the front, and I guess they put the axle in without checking it. They drove it out of the shop in 2wd, stopped, and put it in 4 wheel. When they tried to move that thing it made all kinds of awful noises. The driver just kept giving it more gas and the truck started kind of jumping along. It was some sight, I laugh every time I think about it.

Dude, I would seriously recommend it. 4WD is always a nice option to have, and when you need it you wish you had it.

2 months ago, i had 4.88 rear and 4.10 front (had the gears for the front, but i hasn't irrepressibly installed them yet). My BW1354E was glitchy, and was somehow put into gear. In a nutshell, my t case is screwed and I'm still trying to find a replacement. Still cannot figure how it got there.

its a complete truck when she matches. :D

You could always change the front tire size to match the same road speed! :icon_rofl:

gears

well if ya do what gottagofast says, then ya have to find a very specific tire size front and back.
