my 87 2.9 4x4 supercab get about 22mpg backroads. so u could prob expect a bit better

Well, that's a lot better than my Explorer (16mpg). I had thought of buying a car to drive back and forth to work, but I don't think it would be cost-effective. Blow $2000 on a car that gets 25mpg? I think I'll get this Ranger going this Spring and drive it (needs a core support-bent).
