OK, I'm confused a little.
I believe all the broncos I have had always had 2 fuel pumps.
I went to help a buddy tonight and it appears that the pump in the tank was bad so I pulled one from a spare truck and replaced it only to find the pump I pulled was considerably different in appearance.
The new pump operated but the truck didn't start.
Upon further investigation it appears that there is only the one pump and the pump I'm use to seeing on the frame rail was missing.
His Bronco II is a 1989 Eddie Bower edition with the 2.9 in it.
My question is did they make versions with only a pump in the tank?
Thanks for the help.

They stopped using the high pressure pump i believe in 87. The tank pump was switched to a high pressure pump.

The 2.9's fuel system was switched over to a single pump in 89.

For the record, my 88 B2 has a dual pump system, just like my 87 Ranger.

Thanks,
My experience was limited to 88 and older so that all makes sense.
Thansk again
