k well i have tranny fluid leaking from somewhere on my tranny but its not from the drain plug or the other plug to fill it but its coming from the top of the tranny and i was wondering if it could be the gasket on the shifter (truck is manual) an just the tranny fluid leaking out of that? ive been looking for a leak everywhere on the bottom of the tranny tighting all the bolts but nothing is fixing it could that be the problem?

search the tech library, there's an article on replacing the shift rail plugs , this may solve your problem

Yeah, you'll want to fix that ASAP.
Until then, keep an eye on the tranny fluid level.

That image is from the tech page.
That's my tranny.
That was the day that my tranny crapped out due to low fluid.
Low fluid was due to the leaky shift rails.

If you need to find those plugs, just ask any tranny shop.
Tell'em what you are have and they will (should) know just what you are talking about. They will sell you a bag with three plugs.

That dried up my leaky tranny issue.
It's been dry and tight for 200K afterwards. :icon_cheers:
