Hey all, its been awhile since ive posted but ive got another issue now.

I drove to the bank fine this morning and when I went to leave ......

I engaged the clutch and put into reverse. When I began easing off the clutch I withdrew my foot about 2 or 3 inches and my truck jerked as if I had dumped the clutch. After that the pedal was on the floor and would not engage. If I let it sit for a few minutes the clutch would have come up a little and I could then depress the clutch and put it in gear. But as soon as I would let off it would jump again like I dumped it.

There was no smell when this happened. 2.3L motor. 90k miles. Manual trans.

Do the clutches have any vacuums that make it work?
Does it sound like a linkage cable is broken?

Sounds like a slave cyclinder.

The clutch is hydraulic- the reservoir is on the firewall close to the master cylinder driver's side. You're probably out of fluid. You can add fluid, bleed it out, and keep it full to buy some time but eventually you will need to swap the hydraulics, clutch master and slave cylinder out to repair long term. Parts aren't horrible price-wise, but here's the bad part- the slave is in the bellhousing and the tranny has to be removed to access. While you're in there you may as well replace the clutch too... If you have this replaced use NEW hydraulic parts... those rebuilds will have you doing it again in 12 months most of the time.

Thanks for the replies everyone.

Snake nailed it on the head. Thats exactly what was wrong with it and I had everything replaced.
