Fender liners

I have noticed that my inner fender liner on the driver side is smaller than the passenger side and doesn't cover nearly as much. I thought it was broken so I went to order another one and noticed that it is supposed to be like that according to Rock Auto.

Why is this? It just doesn't make sense that Ford would design something that way, but then again, they do some stupid stuff.
 
You have components on one side you dont have on the other side, Bro. Think about it. My 99 is the same since the day I bought it new.

Right on, Clearance for things like namely the steering linkage!:D
Mine was smaller for the brake booster and the charcoal filter.
 
Well then I guess I won't need to spend the money. I just thought it was strange that it was like that, never thought of the clearance issues.
