broke my rear window on my gen 3...will one of the sliding glass panels from a gen one fit a gen 3?

Not sure about that, but you can call your local glass company and get a quote to replace it.
I bought my tuck with cardboard and duct tape for a slider.. called Binswanger and they had a slider in a window that was taken out of another 91. They put in the used slider and only charged me $20

i got a hole new back sliding window for $50...cant complain. oh and it is tinted purple
