Well, completed my Explorer disc 8.8 swap and 4.56 gear swap this weekend! Siked as hell! Complete overhaul of front and rear suspension. NOTHING is old other than the beams and leaf springs. Whoring will begin tomorrow. I am pleased to say that 4.56s are PERFECT for 33's and 4 wheel disc brakes are AWSOME!! Longest weekend of my life....23 hrs to install.

I still have to finish the c clip eliminator mod on the front axle.

Oh and fyi, I did NOT swap out the master cyl. and I have great brakes.

Here's a couple pics I snapped half way through the weekend:

Agreed, more pics dammit! (finished work, and your welds and setup)

Anyways, I just did my 8.8 disc and 4.88 last week! I love it.

Also, I also did NOT swap my master cylinder, but my brake still could be better. I am going to switch it out here pretty soon. I think the main difference is that I am running a 35" tire, as opposed to your 33's. I'll keep you updated. Who knows, you may even stop better with your 33's if you switch yours out, too?

Anyways, good job. Can't wiat for more pics...

Also, you made me do double takes are your old axle. I painted my drums that exact same color!!

That's hilarious, I have the same differential cover as you too

I am in the process of regearing my truck. I have some 4.10's I got for the front from the junkyard. I decided to do this because I cracked the housing on my front diff, so it had to be changed. I run 33's, so would it be worth my time to get some 4.56's while i have everything apart? Or will 4.10's be fine?
