Bed Replacement

I have a 99 XLT extended cab 4x4. I was wondering about the use of different years of beds. What years can I use to replace this bed? Also if the bed has to come off of an extended cab. Example: A guy is parting out a 1996 4x4 regular cab would this work on my truck?

Unless you have a long bed they are exactly the same. You need a T-55 to remove the (6) bolts holding the bed to the frame, a 6mm socket to remove the (3) bolts at the filler tube, and you have to unplug the tailights.

After that just bolt it up!

Any 6-foot bed (NOT 7-foot bed) from 1993-2008 will work, doesn't matter if it came off a regular cab or extended cab.

Thank you guys for the help. Hoping to get this bed so I can get it inspected. It was totalled and thats all I have left to get it back together. Then I can start my dana 44 front and rear swap!
