OK... its been 210,245 miles and never has the stock suspension been replaced or up graded! so i ask this of you guys, what is the least expensive brand that will get the job done, i don't want bottom of the barrel. but what i really want to know is this something i can do in my home garage? what kind of tools are needed? anything special? and which should i do first, front or rear? I consider myself pretty handy and have always done all my own work very effectively. I just need a little guidance having never replaced shocks before. thanks in advance for any responses.

This can be done with basic hand tools. Very simple. As for what shocks to buy...you get what you pay for, so just go to the parts store and buy something on the high end of your price range.

I would recommend a mono tube shock like Bilsteins or KYB Mono-max,
The KYB's are a little stiff but are a good shock, while Bilsteins are too they one of the best you can buy.
Installation is simple, just a few basic hand tools.
