Would a sohc 4.0 fit with the 2.9 tranny in a 89 ranger 4x4 ect cab?

Alright well if i need pretty much everything then ill jus pass on that swap. Cause id like to use the same tranny that ive just rebuilt. And fuel pump. But the 4.0 in my year ranger is the ideal swap? Easiest i mean?
