nope, they arent the same. a 96 has different guages, aka i believe you have a voltage and one other that an 06 doesnt. but your welcome to try and let us know!

Yeah but 96 is when they stopped being cable run. The signal comes from the same place. It calculates speed and time electronically (instead of with gears) and flips the odometer numbers accordingly. Digital isn't the issue.
