So.... I bought an air compressor. The one in the link below and now I need to get some power to it.

A family friend who is, not sure if the word is general contractor but, he did some work on the house and he wired a couple 240V plugs in the garage so that I could run a welder and air compressor some day. I wasn't sure what plug exactly I was going to need for a welder at the time but I knew I was going to buy a 240V welder and he wired the appropriate plugs (to his knowledge) into the garage. I have since bought a hobart handler 187 and it works fine with the plug as I hope it would. ANYways... To confirm a few things because I don't know shit about home wiring. So, I looked up the plugs and apparently they are called 6-50R, same as in the pic below:
So I rolled down to the local home depot and picked up some 10/3 wire in the flavor of the water resistant outdoorsy type and bought a 6-50P Plug (the 30/50 amp version) like in the pic below:
Anyways, I looked at what the wire from the plugs ran to in the electrical box and it ran to this breaker:
I am going to make a leap and assume this is a 30 amp breaker? The amperage rating on the motor on the air compressor says 15 amps so should this be acceptable? From what I understand the starting amps are a bit higher.
Also, in the wire. Green is ground, White is hot and Black is hot?
I'd wire the plug like this.
And for the compressor end, This right? Do the white and black matter, since they are both hot?
Sorry for the long winded post but I don't like messing with that kind of thing without going in fully informed. I'm sure this is routine work for knowledgeable folk.
